What happens at a USC Book Club meeting?
According to Beth Erlanger, Book Club Organizer of the Community Foundation of Upper St. Clair… “We wait for people to arrive, get reacquainted, and jump right into discussing the book. First we share our opinions. Then, I try to have a few discussion questions with me so we go over those.”
Why was it formed?
“I started it because I’ve run into people who like to read and say that they’d love to join a book club, but don’t know where to find one. I felt that we could have one that is open to anyone.”
When and where does it meet?
The second Thursday of every other month starting in September…
2019 Book Club Meetings: January 10, March 14, May 9, September 12, and November 14.
It is offered at two times: 11:00 a.m. and repeated at 7:00 p.m.
USC Community & Recreation Center
What do I have to do?
“People usually read at least a portion of the book ahead of time. They buy it in print or for their e-reader, or check it out of the library (which is what I usually do). If they haven’t read the book, that’s okay, too. We’ve had some people who have come before who felt they were in a rut and just needed to get out of the house to find some motivation to read again. Even if someone has read it and has nothing on which to comment, that is fine.”
